Evan Runyon, double bass and co-founder
Evan Runyon is a multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger, songwriter and producer based in New York.
As acoustic and electric bassist he has appeared with Klangforum Wien, The Knights, International Contemporary Ensemble, Talea Ensemble, Metropolis Ensemble, Ensemble Signal and Cantata Profana; is a founder-director of antiphonal rock band Real Loud and double bass quartet Large Furniture; has worked directly with composers including Julia Wolfe, Rebecca Saunders, Louis Andriessen and George Lewis; collaborated with artists including Wye Oak, Emily Wells, loadbang and the Miró Quartet.
A prolific session musician, Evan has performed on tracks with combined streams in the hundreds of thousands. His principal mentor was Robert Black, with whom he earned a postgraduate diploma.
